One of the popular emojis that Facebook users use is the peace sign, and there are two: the peace symbol that was used for the campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in 1958 ☮️ and the two fingers peace sign ✌️. Whichever you want to use, there are four ways to make a peace sign on Facebook. There is no alt shortcut for the two fingers peace sign at the moment. The dove bird is also a symbol of peace, so you can use that instead of the two mentioned above. You will find a dove emoji 🕊️ on your emoji keyboard, but you can also use Google if you want to. Just type “Dove Emoji” in the search bar.
How To Make a Peace Sign on Facebook
Peace signs don’t necessarily mean that there’s some fight going on and you want to make peace with the other person. People use it on Facebook for different purposes: to make themselves appear more friendly, to let others know that they are just kidding, to imply that they don’t want to offend anyone, etc. Regardless, here are the different ways to make a peace sign on Facebook.
Method #1: Using Computer Keyboard
The “Alt” key on a computer keyboard is used mainly for symbols. If you press “Alt” and hold it as you press other keys, you can produce a symbol. Each symbol has its own “code”. As for the peace sign, the code is 9774. So if you want to make a peace sign on Facebook using your computer keyboard, press Alt + 9774, and it will appear. If it doesn’t work, try using the number keys on the right side of the keyboard instead of the ones above the letter keys. Note that Alt + 9774 is the code for ☮ peace symbol. At the moment, there isn’t an alt shortcut for the two fingers peace sign, but you will be able to find it on your emoji keyboard.
Method #2: Using the Smartphone’s Emoji Keyboard
Emoji was initially created for Japanese phones in 1997 by Shigetaka Kurita, which is why it is called emoji. Emoji is a Japanese word meaning “image character”. So, to make a peace sign on Facebook using your mobile device’s keyboard, go to the emojis section and then find the peace sign you want to use. You will find the three peace signs and symbols we mentioned in this post: the peace symbol that was used for the British campaign for Nuclear Disarmament ☮️, the two fingers peace sign ✌️, and the dove bird 🕊️.
Method #3: Using the Windows Emoji Keyboard
Did you know that Windows computers have a built-in virtual emoji keyboard? If you are using Windows 10 or 11, simply press the Windows logo beside the Alt key on your keyboard and the period (.) simultaneously. The emoji panel will appear on the screen. Type “peace” in the search bar, and the three peace signs we mentioned will appear.
Method #4: Using Google
If the three methods didn’t work, use Google. Google has the solutions to many things, including making a peace sign on Facebook. Type “peace sign emoji” in the Google search bar and copy and paste it into the Facebook post. If you want to use the dove bird, search for “dove emoji” on Google. You may find different emoji styles you can choose from.
